Mackin 1966 Calionis alpina 2 June Heard display beyond dump, on road into town. 3 June Two very active displaying 07 over beach ridge, plus feeding group of 3 (looked like 244 + 107). 4 June Two pairs appear to be localized on Beach Ridge. Some display, but no territorial interaction. Another 07 closer to C+G.S. feeding—flew 1/4 mile toward AACS when flushed. Ditelka's plot—2 ps. have made this their home. Sitting quietly— no display. Took a 07 off NE corner of plot (SN 482)—t=11x6mm—far, juicy Tipula larva in esophagus. 6 June Foggy, foggy dew. Heard several 07 displaying over Beach Ridge. Couldn't see much, due to fog. Pitelka's plot— again 2 ps.—sitting quietly. In Voth area a flock of about 10 birds was apparently dispersing. Very active, but no full display. Birds chasing, segregating, and regrouping—many trills and much wing flagging. Too much going on to keep track of individuals. In the evening watched a pair on Beach Ridge, then went to W. ridge and shot a 07 (SN 486). this
