Machia 1966 P. dominica 4 egg nest behind Micro-Met. 29 June Much apparently suitable habitat West of village, and pairs were regular, if not dense. I think density is limited by marshy feeding areas - certainly not by dry nesting habitat. Collected some feeding observations. 1 July Niko and I each found nests - 3 and 4 eggs - by South end of Pitelka's Plot. Density is certainly not low any longer. Flock of at least 10 - probably more - just East of CREEK wanigan. Very wary - could not approach. Birds were widely spread out in feeding, and did not group strongly in flight. 3 July Flock of ca. 25 on East side of Holmes' Marais, near Elson Lagoon. Mostly just sitting quietly - refused to feed. Molt is not yet obvious in these birds. Could not get close enough to remove any birds to see if it is in progress - as I expect. 4 July None seen in Central Marsh.
