MacLean 1965 C. alpina [illegible] 21 June Either two or three territorial pairs in AACS-micro-met marshes. Birds are still seen together - probably not incubating. 22 June Both territorial and non-territorial birds in Holmes' Marsh. Several territorial birds seen alone - may be incubating. Not much courtship activity, 23 June Birds just plain hard to find in Voth area, and not doing much of interest. Territorial birds seen both singly and in pairs. 25 June Birds are still courting - more amount of display seen and heard, with several courtship cases. Also still territorial disputes. 27 June Display is about over - quieting down rapidly even tho' weather is good. 28 June 2 egg nest located near Stevens' plot N of Micro-ther. Two eggs very different in appearance: 1 "normal", othe elongate with all spotting concentrated at broader end. Length of egg mainly blue-green ground color. Nest cup seemed unusually small, deep. 29 June Pair localized on N. slope of Beach ridge. I gave brief stop display.
