Calidris alpina
(13 June) of 8-10 around Upper Wohlslag Slough
showing some display and chasing. One
chases w/ 2 others, then gave good aerial
display, continues on ground, then aerial
again.
14 June
Again, both seemingly territorial birds
plus flock of ca. 12 along N. bank of
Wohlslag Slough. Saw both aerial
and ground display in territorial and
flocking birds. Display better developed
in territorial birds. Fair to good feeding
observations - could have taken more.
15 June
Persistent beasts! miserable weather-
snow covering previously melted areas,
but they're still trying. Very little aerial
display seen, but birds still on territories
around Gaslie Ridge.
16 June
Flock of ca. 40 ± 4 in exposed
pocket S. of Brant Point. Occasional
brief "whinny", but no real display. took
feeding observations.
19 June
To Voth area in greatly improved
weather. Heard more display, but still
far below normal. Saw two birds
feeding in pond and observed. [Ahaaa-
a pair!] [cries by another!?] all
three collected. [fear obs # 096 + 097.
