Nest with 4 eggs (CRB-1 - RTH) located on
So. Beach Ridge. Found 6 June with 1 egg by
Holmes.
11 June
None seen in Drum area.
15 June
Widely spaced, but consistently found
along beach ridge and W. slope. 1 pr.
on gasoline ridge. ?T still displaying well.
18 June
Dense on N. slope of ridge W. of gasline.
Continue on ridge slopes for several miles.
Still much activity; ?T displaying, chasing.
20 June
Well spaced in mesic areas E. of Beach
ridge. ?T displaying.
25 June
Seen universally distributed inland -
more display than other spp., with possible
exception of Buff-breasts.
3 July
Nest found in process of hatching -
flat grass area N of Jaeger nest, between
gasline and Middle Salt Lagoon. 1 just out,
one coming out, 2 broken. 1 adult nearby.
Miller reports 4 chicks with 1 adult in
Voth area.
4 July
Rechecked above nest - cup empty -
1 chick ca 10 ft. away - no other chicks
or adults in sight. This chick assumes
abandoned and collected (Maclean 259).
17 July
2 adults w/ 4 chicks - W side of gasline
ridge.
