Mackie 1966 P. dominica 16June Birds are scarcer at Medoe to 19June River than at Barrow, and occupy comparable habitat. Hang out and nest on dry ridges, but move to wet marshes and even lake margins to feed. Could, upon v. cursory look, Detect no habitat difference between these and black-bellied plovers. Black-bellied are more often seen on dry, sandy ridges - but both use these to nest and feed to some extent, and both feed in wet marshes. 20June Went out to both Area and found nest (P.Id. #2-4eggs) that I had localized on the 13th + 15th - on east slope of gone west of cake eater. After first disturbance P got onto nest. Could not find exact spot, so had to back off again. this time P got on, and remained longer than P. Also saw a pair on Village Ridge and a pair N. of nest #2. Saw a pair on high polygons north of Gasline Ridge - just where they should be. Got a few observations. 22June Birds are sparser in lands than in immediate Barrow area.
