Maclean 1968 C. melanopterus (22 June) IV A-B - again some ♂ feeding in the sw grass, displaying and chasing occasionally. Back through the Voth area - saw a ♀ off a nest. Backed up and watched her ger back on a nest in tall, dense grass. Flushed her to stake nest, then went to weasel for scale and shotgun. Returned - saw a ♀ off a nest - and watched this one ger on to another nest 20 m. from the first! Collected the territorial ♂ watching over the area, both ♀♀, both clutches. Nest #1 - ♀ SN 900 - 73.2g. egg #1 - 12.6 g. 2 - 13.2 3 - 12.6 4 - 12.7 x = 12.775 g Σ = 49.1 g Nest #2 - ♀ SN 901 - 67.6g. egg #1 - 12.0g 2 - 11.9 3 - 12.5 4 - 12.1 Σ = 48.5 x = 12.125 Just as I was stalking the ♂ a flock of pectorals came by.
