Maelan 1967 C. melanocephalus 21 August More of the same in the A.M. by lines III A-B & IV A-B. In the afternoon - fewer birds in area of P's Plot. Walked into Holmes' Mosass - then into Central Marsh; prob. 1 bird/acre in these areas. More aerial activity than seen recently - birds fly up about over marsh, quite vocal. 22 August Back along Voth road - birds were thick in small groups, feeding in drying ponds ('black-bottoms' are quite conspicuous now) and around pond edges. Good separation from red- backs that are now feeding on upland funara. Red-backs, or least in the area covered, were quite a bit more common. 23 August
