C. melanostos
10-13 July
PP were abundant at Medoe
River and several clutches of young were
found. this was the most abundant
shorebird. Birds were mainly in dried
ponds in low-polygon regions. Saw no
♂♀
14 July
About 20 were in a flock with
c.a. 20 P.d., 8 C.a. and 2 A.i. near
Beach Ridge crossing. Another flock
of ca. 40 were in Central Marsh.
Chased these toward Pow-Main and
collected 6.
15 July
Again - about 40 in central
Marsh in two groups: 10 feeding
in weasel road (probip) and 30
preening on undisturbed tundra. collected
5 of these.
16 July
Tom collected a ♀ only slightly
injured in the Central Marsh traplines
(VIII or VIII). Fed it and put it in a
box to ship to Fairbanks.
