Maclean 1966 C. melander 20 m. from another ♂. Both flew, then for next 15 minutes a ♂ persistently harassed a ♀ over area 400 m. x 250 m.: ♂ chased in flight, gave ground display and approached whenever ♀ came down. Most active sexual encounter I've seen this year. ♂ gave flight "garble", hooted at least once. 27 June Searches good habitat between micro-wet and gasoline ridge without seeing a single bird, dammit. Later - only place birds were seen was in Drum area; flying around by roads were about 3 birds. 28 June This evening Nike reports group of 27 birds East of AACS. They could breed, but I fear it is too late. 29 June Area SW of village is not their habitat. Some looks O.K. just beyond village Drum area, and saw 4 ♂ chasing here, and 2 displaying ♂♂ just beyond. That was it for broad marshy habitat and pectorals for the rest of the day. 1 July
