Maclean 1965 Calidris melanotos 10 June Saw lone ♂ along N. bank of Wohlslag Slough, standing quietly. 12 June Lone ♂ along E. edge of Holmes' Morass, feeding near 2 C. alba. No time to observe more. 13 June 1 ♂ on Gasoline Ridge. No others seen from Drum area, Voth, gasoline, to Upper Wohlslag Slough. 14 June ♂ and ♀ seen by SE corner of Holmes' Morass, near mouth of Wohlslag Slough. ♂ made ground display - tail cocked, wings slightly drooped - to ♀, but without any sounds. ♀ flew short distance, ♂ follows, then both resumes feeding. ♂ made several long flights, but no aerial display. Birds tend to stay together. 16 June ♂ and ♀ just South of Brant Point. Feeding actively. Still no display heard. The most noticeable variation in bird life is the lack of pectorals. In feeding, jab to depth similar to alpina, but jab in more distinct series. 19 June First aerial display seen 3 times in Voth Area. ♀ collected after feeding observation (#095) - ovum just beginning to enlarge. Birds are still very infrequent. 21 June Checked ANCS - Micro Marsh area -
