9 June
the first I have seen this year -
a good population in Brittan's Area.
they were displaying and chasing actively-
obviously a number of birds have already
claimed territories. Late arrival - immediate
onset of activity. FAP reports similar
observations in the Drum Area. Collected
(actually, DOW did it) 2 birds on Brittan's
Area - SM 1018, 1019.
10 June
they have really jumped right
on it. Saw populations on Brittan's
Area and the drum area that were
displaying actively and, especially,
chasing all over the place. One ♂ on
B's area was chasing longspurs when
he couldn't find any bairdii to chase.
this bird was also doing a good deal
of wing flashing. bairdii are also
occupying small exposed sections of
Gasline and Beach Ridges.
11 June
About as yesterday. A pair on the
bus - slightly exposed bluffs N. of Footprint
Lake.
Picked up a very fresh wire-bill
on East side of road, across from F.A.Q. -
SM 1038.
12 June
Bill Berg and I saw a full nest cup -
