C. bairdii
5 June
Saw 2 birds, separately (could have
been the same, but I don't think so),
over Beach Ridge - the 1st fly up with
an active group of 3 alpina; the 2nd
flying alone over ridge. No display.
7 June
2 birds or more at Nwuk flying
w/ 2 pectorals. Continued to fly with
these while ignoring active group of
sanderlings.
8 June
Conspicuous in their absence -
especially in Drum area where semi-
pales were v. abundant and active.
9 June
Not a bird seen on W. Beach Ridge,
in the morning or in the Drum area in
the afternoon.
10 June
Gasoline area near micro-met - nothing.
Similarly - Britton Area.
12 June
Finally some activity in the Drum
area - perhaps 10 birds spread about
and displaying actively. Saw a good
chase of 4 birds; later 2; several
♂♂ displaying. Obviously just arrived - no
territorial encounters yet.
12 June.
In the afternoon checked Village
Ridge in the hope that they have arrived
there, too. Nope.
13 June
Heard display from near North Creek.
Saw a pair - 4 with damaged feet -
