Maclean 1964 Pluvialis dominica 10 June Individual seen on Beach Ridge; another near micro-met. Two simultaneously displaying ("Butterfly flight") ca. 150 yds apart over Voth area. 12 June 3 flew over beach ridge in loose group (lest. 40 ft. apart) - all singing. 15 June Pair in Magic Marsh W. of Beach Ridge. Pair in central marsh (10:30 P.M.) - ♀ standing tilted forward - head down, ass up ♂ next to ♀, making (presumably or vocalizing) high squeaky sounds, like quail chick, but more terse. Moves away 2 ft, then jumps or and copulates. ca. 4 min. later repeated copulation. Both flew ca. 40 yards. Swin - repeats ass-up display. No copulation observed. 18 June Seem to be more on N. Beach Ridge area than before. Pair S. of micro-met; pr. E. of AACS. Abundant and conspicuous E. of gasline. Frequently heard calling. Pairs seen feeding in pond edge beyond cakemaker. Nest in prior marshes beyond. 26 June Nest (4 eggs) on ridge of low-center polygon - SW ca 200 yds. from S.-moet micro-met bldg, 5 ft. E. of collapsed cardboard box on ground
