50 yds ( to height of ca. 250 ft.) 1, then other
dropped off. Both gave aerial display as
drifted back towards area where activity began.
Laneso ca. 100 yds. apart. Other 2 continues
on in direction of chase.
Baird and Semi-Pal feeding 2-10 ft.
apart - no apparent interaction.
12 June
One displaying just West of White-
Rump territory. Continues ca. 1 1/2 min. w/ no
response from other birds.
13 June
Much activity over marsh between Pow
Main and Fresh Lake. One chase involves 5 birds.
Bird on ground by corner of S-most Pow
Blog - giving wing-raised display. Tail
slightly up (ca. 30°). Held close side wing
up ca. 20 sec, switched. Watched me all the
time. Believed displaying to me. Finally joined by
another baird, both flew.
Several displaying up over E. Fresh Lake
Marsh. Saw chases of 2+3 birds.
Evening: 1-crest display in drum
area. Bird flushed by upside-down table.
Did not go back to nest in 25 min.. (Incomplete
clutch?) While off nest, displaying bird
flew up - raised wing display, then ground
display. Tail down and fanned, body
horizontal. Held wing up, then straight
