Eromia Fascicollis
Most abundant species along Barrow
Ringe. Near AACS - extremely active. Much
song (at least 4 different individuals seen
[illegible] in aerial display), ground display,
and chasing. Aerial display - fly along ground
(5-10 ft.) then suddenly rise to 30-40 ft and
glide to ground giving "Pong-Zee" & call.
Ground display - body horizontal, tail cocked,
wings spread and held low. turn in small
circles. Given several times to other white-
rumpes - usually terminating in chase. Also
given twice to Peaford, once to Baird's.
Chases in chase. Chases interspecifically
in groups of 2-5 (4 most common), and
intraspecifically with Peafords and Bairds.
Less frequent near gasoline end of
S. Beach Ringe.
W. end of Gasoline Ringe - observed
ground display. Displaying bird (? ?) tail
cocked, displaying courts. Wings spread, held
down, then both held up simultaneously,
then one pulled into size, with other held
up. ♀ ca. 12 away - no evident response. ♂
quivers, or flasheo, uphels wings rapidly.
Another flew in and lances ca. 1 ft. away.
Displaying bird chases. Other bird remains -
collected.
