Nacbee 1969 Calidris mauri 3 June A few birds were mixed in with the orgy of activity on Britten's Area. DWO collected one, which FAP is putting up. 10 June Collected one for DWO from Beach Ridge, so. of FAA. 11 June Heard and saw an aerial display in same sight. Bird rose to ca. 25 ft., above ground, then displayed for ca. 100 m. Note was higher-pitched than I had recalled; I take back all of my comparisons between this and Aphriza (= Calidris?) virgata. 13 June Again as above sight - saw 3 birds take off together and 2 gave aerial displays. Again - rose c. 25 ft. and gave display while flying in a line. Just before this Bill Berry saw a nest-cup display by this species - may have involved the birds that I saw in aerial display. 14 June Was in that area today without seeing any, but foggy weather discourages all sandpiper activity. 15 June Tom Cade saw display between the DEW site and Beach Ridge. 16 June I saw and heard display of several birds over polygonal uplands
