MacLean 1966 Caliparis pusillus 6 June First returns - heard one displaying over gasoline ridge, then two pairs localized in recently exposed grounds in Voth area. Both displaying well - noble ground. Couldn't get close enough to take any. 7 June Saw one feeding bird south of cake-eater for one big observation! At least a pair just west of gasoline road. Collected 1 - a ♂ (SM 487) - interesting stomach - very different from redbacks. Must remove more. Another ♂ from this area flew out towards Brittan Area, displayed, and disappeared. 8 June Two bursts of display in Drum Area. Very little exposed ground - probably not enough to support any serious breeding activity. None seen along Beach Ridge. In the evening went to Voth Area and saw activity involving 3 ♂♂. No real interaction. Watched a pair by east side of road - just mucking around in disturbed ground. 9 June Voth area - watched above pair, plus another ♂ 40 feet away trying to get in on the act.
