Maclan 1965 Calioris pusillus 11 June One seen at S. end of drum area. 13 June Several seen feeding and chasing in drum area. Little display as yet - very surprising, since my memory of past years has these one of earlier displaying birds. Last year had 2 completed semi-pal nests on 11 June. 14 June Nothing in Holmes' Marass. 16 June 2 seen feeding along pond edge between Brant Pt. and Woldslag Slough. No display seen or heard. 19 June More abundant in Voith area than any other area yet found - seconds to red-backs there. Very brief bursts of display - no more. 2 collected after feeding observation - #098. Another bird also collected feeding in same habitat - not directly observed. 21 June Three pairs encountered in ANCS - micro-ner marbles, plus one stray bird who was made to feel unwelcome. Semi-pal pairs were pecking along pond edges, staying close. 24 June Same three pairs observed - still see both birds together. Aerial and ground display seen. Birds frequently stop while feeding to call, then resume feeding.
