7 June
A newly arrived flock of about 16
sandpipers was feeding v. actively at
Nuvuk. Birds were feeding in melt ponds
on sphagnum-dominated tundra - jabbing
into water about 4 cm. deep. Birds were
obviously visually searching. Wanted to
collect, but found I had 12 ga. shells for
the 16 ga. shotgun.
8 June
A lone bird was collected on
P's plot - a 07. Bird was gleaning
the top of a wet mound, between
flooded channels.
10 June
Watched a flock of ca. 8 widely
spaced birds feeding around edges of melt
pond in gravel by Voth Road Trct.
