Maclean 1965 Calioris alba 12 June Pair observed feeding actively on polygonal ground at E. end of Holmes' Marass, 200 m. N. of mouth of Wohlslag Slough. Feeding very rapidly - appears to be series of rapio jabs. 13 June Observes 1 (possibly 2) birds near camp ends of drum area. Birds seen feeding. Immediately thereafter birds seen chasing Baird's sandpiper close to first observation. 14 June 1 bird seen feeding ca. 50 m. South of 12 June observation. Again feeding rapidly and silently. Few calls in flight. 15 June Hamilton reports hovering bird in drum area. Probably giving call, but sounds obscured by wind. Went out in evening - saw bird chasing C. Bairdii very actively for ca. 200 m.. Flew back to original spot. Saw much less color in breast than Petersa shows. Collected the beast - put up by DeBenedictis. #
