Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama' 2 May 2002 I netted at BRI with Clint, targeting ARA for removal. No luck yet. 3 May 2002 We caught ARA and changed his bands to SRC for easier recognition. Clint was moving incredibly slowly as we closed nets and prepared to take the bird back to our holding cage, and I rudely snapped at him about it. He claimed that he would work while here, after all. I debated about keeping him in captivity vs. releasing him on Linarte, and finally opted for the latter. I paid Chino $3 to take Clint, me, and "SRC" to Linarte. SRC flew away strongly, and I feel good about the decision. The Swainson's Thrushes have disappeared entirely from Boca Brava, now. The migration has moved on. 6 May 2002 Clint and I target-netted the unbanded female who just hatched a chick by SBE1. We caught her and banded her WAW, and took a blood sample from the chick. A Swallow-Tailed Kite flew over second beach at lunch- the first I've seen on Isla Boca Brava.
