DuVal, E.H. 2002 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama 29 April 2002 ARA continues to elude us at BRI, despite our netting efforts. Clint called from Panama City and will be on Boca Brava in the morning. Today was the official half-way point of the season, so we had a party: piƱa coladas (generously matched by Frank), dancing with Elvy... We even got Ryan to dance. The restaurant ran out of gas for cooking dinner, so we made Kraft Dinner over my Whisperlite on the platform where the second rancha used to stand. It's hard to believe that the field season is already half finished! 30 April 2002 Today was the day off, and I mostly spent it with Clint. Becca stuffed a young male Sapphire-throated Hummingbird that Amelia found dead in the restaurant. Hummingbirds in general have become noticeably scarce in the last few weeks. For a while, the Rufous-tailed Hummingbirds were showing up at most watches, hovering before us mere feet away. It's been at least ten days since I've seen a Rufous-Tailed, and longer since I've seen a Little Hermit
