DuVal, E.H. 2002 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiniqui, Panama 26 April 2002 & 27 April Becca and I netted at BR1 in the morning and afternoon, and caught 5 manakins in the last (after 5:30pm) net run. One of the 5, a green female who had been unbanded, was unable to fly when released. There was no obvious injury, but, like several manakins before, she could perch but tumbled to the ground when she attempted to fly. As we have the cage ready for a captured alpha, we took her home and kept her overnight. In the morning she hadn't moved at all, & was still unable to fly. Becca & I gave her cantaloupe juice dripped into the tip of her beak from a syringe & she drank 1/4-1/2 cc. In the afternoon she seemed more alert though still unable to fly. She could legs between perches, so we released her at BR1 again. When Becca searched the same area later in the day, the bird was not to be found. Unfortunately she had a Brofs but Becca & I decided that it was
