Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriquí, Panamá 20 April 2002 It was a 4-watch day today, so we've all exhausted & in bed by 8:30. Highlights: I found a brown vine snake eating a gecko-like anole that I didn't know existed on the island (or anywhere else, in fact). Their jaws were locked together & neither was moving, but it was clear that the snake was winning. I took many, many pictures. There's a dominance scuffle in progress at CAS - VGG (EH) was chasing everyone but the un804 seemed dominant to him. (chased back when chased, & did pip flights & solo dances (no ?) untested). 21 Apr 2002 Chick season is in full swing now - we have four nests on the table that need to be staked, all at once. That's in addition to four more from which I've already taken blood samples. Becca & I each did a watch at BRI (I saw ARA & BOW dance for a female, as I'd been hoping to) & took turns staking nests. My nest near S/N 1 had WB - (G) feeding - probably WB, who formerly nested in land
