DuVal, E.H. 2002 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama' 10 Apr 2002 The Catharus thrushes are in full swing, squabbling in the bushes & flitting about like manakins. The pig escaped again, but I saved my clothes. Their migration seems to be in full swing. 11 April 2002 We were awakened by the pig escaping, again, at 5:30am. Not the best way to start the day. I started at nest E-2 & found the female RR/2 feeding the chick. I saw a chick & an egg when I looked in the nest at 07:30, but when I checked again at 10:00, thinking of bleeding the chick, there were two chicks'. I'm waiting until tomorrow to bleed them. We discussed the seeds-under-nests paper idea after dinner, & the consensus is that we should proceed, though confounding variables like slope that the nest is on may make our results not- very-useful.
