place as we followed the coastal trail out.
Then we blew off all stodgily-enforced
dinner rules and went swimming at
second beach as the sun was setting.
It was beautiful, and well worth the
risk of being yelled at - we were
more than half an hour late to dinner.
28 March 2002
Two copulations were recorded today -
one by Becca, and one by John & Eileen
(again WBR at ccl). Females have started
laying, and three eggs appeared in Becca's
nests. I found a wooly possum (not sure
of the species) and called Eileen over from
a watch to see it. We had a bonfire
on second beach and made s'mores,
then went swimming under the full
moon. It was a lovely day. Suzanne,
a young STRI fellow on her way to Bocas
del Toro to study sea urchin evolution & ecology,
joined us, as did Mercedes.
There were only two flaws in the day:
Eileen noticed in the evening that the Lonely
Planet claims there is no bus service at all
on Good Friday, the day they intended to leave.
