Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama 2005 later in the day - he was full and sleeping. Julian and I placed quail eggs in nests of half of the sites picked. The eggs were bought more than a week ago and were obviously moldy, & smelly. With all the distractions of the chick tragedy, I forgot to wash the eggs beforehand and realized that when in mangrove. I washed the remainder of my eggs (enough for 2 more sites) in the water near the BRI gully. I hope this doesn't bring in the wrong & kind of predator to the nest, i.e. ants. We plan to wash and distribute the rest of the eeggs tomorrow. Temp low - 76°F +ow high 86°F, Water gauge had 1.5cm of water since last time it was checked.
