This was our first official day off, & we
all celebrated by sleeping late. I started work
[illegible] on the manakin enclosure that we'll use
for the removal experiments. The electricity
company has been trimming all the trees
(ie cutting them down) near the power line,
as there have been two recent power cuts
due to a fallen tree. I salvaged branches
from the downed trees to use as supports,
& will stitch a mesh cube to fit over
the top:
X-shaped crossbars
should increase
stability, & I'll lash
the whole thing together
with twine. It might work, or it might
be a repeat of the shelf-building effort in
Guyana.
I took two short walks with my camera
& new 500mm lens to try to get manakin
pictures, with no luck.
