Duval, E.H. 2004 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 4 April 04 The day was still and hot, but the manakins were still fairly active. Julie and I caught four in the morning (plus bycatch) and did watches for the rest of the day. The nest that I suspect is BAG's has two eggs today. Amelia arrived for a night, married (!) and with her esposo Ricardo. 5 April 04 Today I heard a Laughing Falcon calling conspicuously from the large trees near the first beach. I went to investigate after my fourth watch but couldn't find it. Julie saw RYV copulate twice in the afternoon (with the same female). We spent a portion of the day entering data, though, I've decided that late morning data entry is more effective than afternoon data entry: the birds seem to become very active after lunch but, after a brief spurt of morning activity, don't do much from 8:30 to noon. It could just be the weather we're having now - very hot
