Today was cut by a rainstorm that started at 4:30pm and, at 5:15, seems determined to drizzle into the evening. I had had nets open for +/- 40 min at SPY, targeting the sole remaining territorial unbDM. He was around the nets and even seems catchable. I caught BWG, former beta at the CCL5 removal site, and now have a good blood hormone sample from him (9 days post-removal. Unfortunately I didn't get a sample the day I caught or BYP. Note that BWG is a second-year DM, and that WBR (known-age) also took a young B upon losing his previous beta to CRZ. Known-age birds are ascending to positions of power...
The most important note from today is that during a one-hour watch at FBE2/1, WAY and RYV (the usual beta or, respectively,) did a PF-2 for a female in the area (seen only as a green blur) which separated into two separate PF-1's. RYV retreated to FBE 2 dance perch, ranging as far as the path that runs in front of FBE1. He stayed high, piping at the average PF-1 rate (1 pip every 4-6 sec.) and definitely seeming to
