DoVal, E.H. 2003 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 9 May 2003 We started the day at the western side of the field site, having spent last night at Christina's house (near the LOT display area) to care for her pets while she's in Panama City. The COTs birds started duet singing at about 06:15 - a bit later than the EDM birds are starting these days, but it was a dark morning and COTs is a dark site even on bright days. In my first watch of the day, I saw WPA and WRV dance for a female (unbanded) at WELY6. WPA did a solo display for the female, confirming that he has indeed taken over the alpha role in the wake of YAR's removal.
