E.H. 2002 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama' May,cat I fixed the nest with dental floss, replaced the chick (after taking a blood sample in case he didn't make it), and got the female's bands: RWY. When lunchtime came, it began to pour. It was our first real day of the rainy season. Becca and Ryan were still sitting on the beach when I got there, soaked through and gahning. Boxer protested our ridiculous behaviour, sitting apart with his ears down & head down, waiting for us to come to our senses and go home. When we did head back, our shoes were completely full of water before we reached first beach. The termites have just started the annual post-rain flight. 17 May 2002 It was the four-watch day, and I also vegged nest E-13. Claus & Mechtilde are gone for the month, so I briefly took shelter on their porch when it began to rain at 5pm. Eventually I stuct out for home. There are more termites swarming than there were yesterday, and dragonflies seem to be diving through the clouds, eating them.
