DoVal, E.H. 2001 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 7 May [unit] Slow. Eric & Katie did two watches & nest-searching each. It started to rain at 3:30pm & I had to close all the nets quickly. Of course, there was a soggy female in the last net (WYA). YYB eluded me, again. 8 May 2001 For the third time, I tried to target-net YYB and didn't catch even one manakin. The E-22 chick was gone, but the egg was still there. I checked E-23, in the spiny palms near SBE, and there were two small chicks, 1-3d. old. I went back staked it & after a mere 5 minutes, ♀ B-- landed on the nest & started to regurgitate food for the nestlings. Then she saw me and stopped, paused, & flew up to a tree over the path.
