Today we continued netting at Bridge.
I heard dancing as soon as we opened
the nets at 07:10, & went to investigate.
ARA (DM) and BOW (on) were doing cartwheels
for an unbanded green ?, and were doing
SF-2 with wing-clicks. The female
was excited - hopping back & forth rapidly on
the display perch. They danced for more
than 5 minutes, and at the end of one
cartwheel bout ARA gave an "EEK" (finally
dominance affirmed!) ARA flew off to
the west & as he was "swooping"
full-speed back to the dance perch,
he hit one of our nets. I took
hormone samples within 10 minutes of
capture, & they were chilled 18min
30 sec later (Eric ran for the ice).
After we caught ARA, activity in the
area pretty much ceased. Never caught BOW.
We had 0.25 cm of rain in
the afternoon.
Tourist Gennie Viteri from Panama
City ([email protected], 684-7189
cel.) invited us to do tourist things with
her when we next go to town.
