Duval, E.H. 2001 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 14 April 2001 Rain in the morning - light, for ~20min. We did watches as usual - 3 each. In both my 2nd (ACA) x 3rd (BR/2) there was a banded female enthusiastic constructing a nest behind the dance perch. PBG at ACA & w?yA? at BR! At Acacia, I saw (DM) GRA, who was injured on March 17 - nearly a month ago. He was chased by another DM (didn't see the bands), and was holding up his left leg - not continuously, but he would raise it after he landed. What a relief to know he's alive and trying to display again, if not succeeding. During a watch at Bridge, I saw a female manakin (AGW?) fluttering repeatedly at the vegetation. Typical nest-building behavior, but when I looked closer I saw that she was perching on a vertical sapling, right below a very new-looking vireo fledgling. She would flutter up to his level and apparently peck at him. She definitely appeared to be biting at his head & body, & he begged (or at least opened his mouth
