DuVal, E.H. 2001 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama [8 Apr caiti] definitely moving between display perches, but it's hard to tell who is dominant at each location. (scratch that - that occured on Apr 7). We split up in the afternoon; Eric & Katie set nets at CCL for tomorrowt I ran nets (catching only a Swainson's Thrush) at Spin Palm leh. I had a bad watch at TCJ - one of my worst, rally - because the birds were active at 3 perches simultaneously but I couldn't find any reliable place to, sit & observe any of them. Same problem at EDM. 9 April 2001 - light rain, 12:30 - 1:45pm; overcast We had a wonderful day sitting at CCC, & caught 14 manakins. By-catch included the first white-winged Becard that we've caught (I think). We caught all of the known banded DMs in the area, but an unbDM is still eluding us. Katie did a nest watch at the E nest near SLN, & read WB - off the f's bands. Didn't a similar female have a nest in a similar place last year? M-11 or M-12? Eric has a nest w/ chicks now, too, but hasn't seen her legs.
