Doval, E.H. 2001 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 4 April 2001 There's been a long hiatus in field notes, but I'm going to do my best to fill in the gaps (or at least do better from now on). Yesterday was our day in David - $70+ on groceries, $26 for a high-class lunch, & I changed $350 in traveller's checks. Our stipend from STRI did NOT arrive, and letters sent to the APO address that I was told to use were returned to the senders. STRI sucks. (Just the thing to put in the MVZ archives) Eileen has not yet sent our thermometer. Today was the weekly "day off," so I went nest-searching & found a record (5w/eggs) 8 nests. Now is definitely the time to be out there. I netted for the unb DM at SPY in the afternoon, but just catched one unfortunate unb RC. The North wind was strong all day - not quite so bad as the one really windy day last year, but strong. A herald of the rainy season? Nest E-1 had no eggs, but there was 1 dented egg on the leaves below it. Perhaps a
