DuVal, EH 2001 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama [16 Mar cont] Pitchard at a sea turtle conference come to help us. Black-chested jay on the pond near the banding station, roadside hawk later. In terms of interesting birds, I've heard the motac's relatively close at WEC, and saw a blue-crowned Motmot at SBE2. I saw a new sort of warbler foraging on the ground near CCL5 yesterday (day before?) - bright yellow chest; olive back; pinkish, long legs; whitish-yellow eyes[illegible] stripe above the eye that curved down very distinct way - I drew & labeled it in my field notebook, and we've found nothing better that matches it in the field guides. (= Kentucky Warbler) 1.5-foot On the 14th I saw a boa constrictor on a stick along the dance perch at BTE1. I couldn't figure out why all the birds were alarm calling in any general direction but not approach until I [illegible] noticed the snake
