DuVal Journal
Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama
rain early 4M. 12 mm rain
2 June 2000 Rain after 5:30 ; sunny & clear morning
We continued to net in Mangrove
with little success - 3 recaps, and a
few fixed net holes. We blazed a
path to the creek that flows
from Well, and then followed it
to Well itself and crossed over to
Lots. Kat & Mark netted there for
about an hour and I went to
TCJ to do a watch (and promptly
saw 1-2 unbanded DM's).
Deidre + Lynn, two FIT Marine
biologists, are here looking for sea slugs.
Deidre is on a STRI pre-doc
fellowship and recommends that I
apply - I'll certainly look into it.
Deidre says that Neal Smith has a reputation
for being cantankerous. I like him...
But Biff may be a better choice of host
for a fellowship application.
June 2000 15 mm rain in evening
We set the rest of the nets at
Lots and caught a grand total of
three birds - but one was "the"
unbanded DM. Another was an unb G?
