DuVal, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama June 2000 Overcast in the afternoon, downpour at night (after 9pm) - 14 mm We spent the morning mist-netting in two teams. Mark & Kat targeted and caught the female from nest E-17, now RPP (4311). Mark stalked out the nest about 1/2 hour after they caught her, and confirmed that she was indeed the mother. She recovered from the experience & was feeding nestlings w/in an hour & 15 min. of being caught - not bad!! They also caught an unbG near CC1 & recaptured a ~~ CB. I recaptured three birds at Gully (4), where I was target-netting for the unb Dry that displays there. He was present and even did a short QR bout, but avoided the nets. I continued net repair, which is much- needed. Net 1 caught a roadside hawk in the bottom trammel, but he re-ripped a hole where Mark had repaired his initial boot-rip. I guess it saved me from the talons, but I'd prefer it if birds only escaped when we allowed them to. I also caught a young blue-crowned motmot who I video-taped (for lack of a still)
