June 2000 Rain in the evening. Clear & sunny morning, cool in the early AM.
We set 5 nets at BTE & Gully @ and ran those until 12:00. I repaired the Avinet 9m net, Mark did a vag count on E-13 (and got some odd looks from Danielle while he was using the bright pink measuring tape), and Kat stalked M-14 (mon = -PV probably). We caught a total of 20 manakins (the 1 white-tipped dove b.gcatch escaped from the net), and only 3 of them were new. Of those (all greemies) one had extremely worn feathers and another was clearly young-of-the-year (all feathers new, body totally in p.i.x., bright gape).
Interestingly, the "juvenile" still had a skull of 6. We have caught one bird with skull windows... The unbanded DMs that we were aiming for evaded the net quite successfully.
June 2000 Overcast in the morning, clear & sunny midday. Splendid evening. Rain late + in the morning of 6/3 - 17 mm
We netted in the same place again today and captured #300. Her?
