DeVal, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 28 May cont. Today we launched into behavioral observations (7) again, checked all our nests, and Mark & I each did a nest vegetation plot. Time is short... Many of my nests failed while we were away, & K-23 apparently fledged. I saw GRG flying back & forth in front of a green-plumage [illegible] today: the bird would turn again and again to follow her as she flew, sometimes crouching low on the perch and opening its mouth at her. No vocalizations. GRG was acting "nesty" in the same area (first beach) last week; perhaps the G bird is her chick? The DM's started dancing and I never got the chance to confirm that the G was unbanded. 29 May 2000 Rain after 5:00 5mm Sunny early Behavioral watches (8) and one nest vg (K-24). I checked E-13, which was falling yesterday, & found the nest collapsed & one banded leg and one wing of 288 left on the ground below. Terrible. Mark saw BOB on a dp at Well(3)
