Duval, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama 19 May cont. rustling in the bushes near the dance perch. I initially thought Kat or Mark was nest-searching their way into my watch, but then saw the yellow-beige tail of a tamandua. I watched him roll onto his back and roll around for about a minute - perhaps scratching his back or rolling in a scent? He stood up and walked within 10 feet of me as he clared at an old stump and then walked up a [illegible] tree as though it were horizontal. 20 May 2000 Rain after 5pm: 27 mm I'm furious. There's a new, huge, drivable road stretching from first beach up through central clearing + to main street. My first watch was interrupted by machetes + chainsaws as the road passed within 3 feet of the display perch that I was watching. It's about 6m wide the whole way, + is carved through a lush patch of first beach. No nests that we know of were destroyed. How can I work here??? Technically, the
