Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama
13 May 2000 Weather: 47mm of rain, starting at ~4:00.
We did 3 observations each, &
Kat saw a possible capulation at
the new site "Triple Creek Junction."
(male banded). Mark got band
combes for M-11 (YRR, formerly listed
as male due to her quite large red
cap). It was a day of snakes:
Mark saw a green "vine snake" that
sounds like the one I saw
last year - dark eye stripe, brighted
lighter green head, darker green body. It
was about 2m long & ~1" in diameter.
I found a very large possible boa,
that could be the same thing that Frank
ID'd as a Boa de lance in our first few
weeks here. I spotted him moving downhill
from 2nd Beach (2), where he was being
mobbed by ants & snakes.
Note: We haven't seen a Swainson's
tursh in weeks now.
