DuVal, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama' 8 May 2000 Weather: rain at night - just a little. Partly cloudy in the afternoon/morning. 3 observations each today, and the telemetry equipment magically began working in the afternoon. I tracked BOY & ABV but still Got no signal from ABV. Her transmitter has (should have) more battery power than BOY's ... Kat found a nest near first beach with two chicks (I knew there had to be more chicks somewhere!). I found two nests under construction: one near 2nd Beach (3) and one in between 2nd Beach (2) and Main Street. The latter was revealed to me when I noticed a female landing near R-4 (a recently failed nest) while I was doing a watch at CC (1). when I saw her a 2nd time I went closer and watched her circle the nest, land on it and peer in, then grab fiber from the nest and hover upwards pulling it. She blew off across the bamboo path, & I stationed myself farther and farther along her route until I found her nest. ;
