DeVal, E.H. 2000 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui Prov., Panama observations, & I stalked K-4 while Mark stalked M-9. I banded K-4's babies both NA_al (NAP x NAB) and M-9's NWPal and NPXWal (the littlest one still needs 2 bands). I got complete blood samples on both nests, and a parasite swear from NPW. I found 2 new nests; one under construction near 1st Beed, & one probably already failed near M-9. A huge proportion of nests seem to fail before or soon after hatching. So far 14 babies have survived to be bled, & we have mom ID's on 10 of those. 5 May 2000 Weather: Slight breeze mostly overcast, hot. Mark and I set nets for BOY but didn't catch her again. I think that was our last chance to target-net, since her baby is very close to fledging. I stood on a chair to take him out of the nest with Mark steadying the base. He flew out of my hand as I took him from the nest, & I caught him in mid-air. He is now [illegible] # 255. NPY
