25 Apr ena My present concerns about the research are:
our measurements do not seem to be
consistent enough between days + observers
to be truly reliable. It's a little late
to worry about this 234 birds into the
project, but I'm worrying anyway. "Skull-to-
tip" seems particularly unrepeatable, but even
important standards like tarsus are
often more than a little off. I guess
I need to pull out one of the specimens +
have us re-train.
April 2000 weather: sunny & clear, cloudy in afternoon,
but no rain. Still & hot at night.
Kat had some problems with the
telemetry equipment today - she
says that for a while she couldn't
even get the static from the "gain"
that's the minimum of functioning
equipment. It started working
again when I looked at it,
it was fine in the afternoon.
We did observations otherwise,
& teamed up to all
observe at Bee tree simultaneously,
