DuVal, E.H. 2080 Journal Isla Boca Brava, Chiriqui, Panama 25 Apr cont dance perch. The second male (AAP? AYP) left, and AYY continued to do the solo slow flight, with the faint wing rattle that I first observed at the well site. The female jumped rapidly back and forth on the dp, & sometimes followed the male as he flew past the dp. AYP frequently broke off his slow flight to chase an unb RC that kept approaching the perch. AYP mated w/ the unb G, who stayed on the dp & raised her tail, held forward. This lasted a few seconds, & then AYP broke it off to chase the RC. ? remained on dp & didn't preen as usual after copulation. AYY resumed slow flight, but eventually the ? left. She may have returned later, as I saw AYY & bDM displaying (SF-2) for an unbG 10 minutes later. Today was the first real day of the rainy season. Rain cut short my radiotelemetry at first beach - BOY is still in approximately the same place. I made a rain gauge from an empty capillary tube case, & collected 2mm of rain from 18:30 - 21:00.
