DuVal E.H. 2006 Journal Isla Bocu Brava, Chiriqui, Panama Apr cent checked two days later, there was only one chick remaining (and he was larger than the previously observed individual, i.e. it wasn't the [illegible] egg, hatched.) There is no sign of the egg below the nest. What predator would have eaten the egg and not the chick? It seems like the egg would have to be removed by the chick or the mother. Is it possible that a brood parasite bird targets manakins? Nest K-1 has 2 eggs, but one is noticeably larger and whiter than the other. I'm not sure how much within clutch variation there is. Nest E-3 has an egg with a tiny hole in it, and there was an art on the shell. Either something broke into the shell, or the chick is hatching now. Both white-tipped dove nests that I have found have housed 1 egg & one nestling. The dove nest at bee tree has recently fledged
